#DearArtiste is known to be a trail blazer and a leading brand in celebrating emerging and unsigned artistes. We have further recognized the special plight of female upcoming artistes in the Nigerian music industry and having observed how they are marginalized and given less opportunities to reach their full potential. In view of this, we have decided to dedicate this edition of the #DearArtiste Monthly Digest to celebrate four Immensely Talented and Hardworking female Artistes, who have shown what they have to offer and proven that they can be trusted to deliver good music. These ladies were nominated to be featured on the #DearArtiste Monthly Digest and your votes got Zara Gretti on the cover page.
Born in Abia State to business woman, Helen Alade (Nee Uzoma) and Police officer, James Alade, fast-rising Nigerian Pop sensation Yemi Eberechi Alade was the fifth of seven siblings in a household that was filled with music from day one. Yemi - whose dual heritage of South-East Nigeria and South-West Nigeria earned her the moniker of "that Yoruba-Ibo girl" - grew up listening to popular music of the late eighties and early nineties and would showcase her singing and dancing dexterities as a child in several party and social competitions. She began singing in her Church choir at the tender age of twelve and was soon known to be able to make melodies from everyday conversations - in her own words, "I've practically lived my life on stage".
After the success of the Samklef-produced "Engage You" which featured E.M.E's Skales and R.I.C, THE ENGAGER - real name Afolabi Tiwatope Ogunleye - returns to close out 2012 with his brand new singles titled "Mummy" and "Ara Wa Ni" featuring YEMI ALADE.
Effyzzie Music Group powered by Rebel Movement has finally unveiled the hotly anticipated video for Yemi Alade's hit single 'Ghen Ghen Love'.
